Firecrawl Job Posting Finder
Find current job openings by role, location, or remote eligibility, and verify each one is still open on the employer's own page before it makes the shortlist
Job boards are full of ghost listings: roles that closed weeks ago but still show up in search. This playbook has Claude search for openings, then check each one on the employer's or applicant-tracking page for closing dates and expired notices, so your shortlist contains only roles you can actually apply to.
Who it's for: job seekers, career changers, recruiters sourcing role benchmarks, career coaches, anyone building a shortlist of current openings
Example
"Find remote data engineer roles in Europe paying over 80k that match my Python and dbt experience" → a deduplicated shortlist with exact title, employer, location and remote limits, advertised pay with currency and period, required vs. preferred qualifications, fit and gaps against your experience, deadline, direct application link, and when it was checked, with unverified postings kept out

npx ccplaybooks add firecrawl-job-postings# Find suitable job openings
**When to use:** Find current job postings by role, employer, location, or remote eligibility. Use for who's hiring, job shortlists, and openings matching supplied skills, experience, or pay preferences.

## Prerequisite: the Firecrawl MCP
This workflow runs on Firecrawl's hosted MCP server (tools such as `firecrawl_search` and `firecrawl_scrape`). If those tools are not available, tell the user to connect Firecrawl (in Claude Code, run `/mcp` and connect the account) instead of guessing at tools or arguments. Requests send search queries, page URLs, and any provider inputs to Firecrawl, so include only what the task needs.
1. Use the Firecrawl MCP to find and verify current job openings. Use the host's tool discovery when needed and follow the live Firecrawl schemas. Search with `firecrawl_search` using the user's role, location or remote eligibility, and required constraints. For supplied posting URLs, go straight to verification. Before including a role as open, call `firecrawl_scrape` on its employer posting or linked official applicant-tracking page with `maxAge: 0` when supported, unless equivalent current page content is already available. Inspect application status, closing dates, redirects and expired notices. A search snippet, job-board entry or successful fetch alone does not establish that applications are accepted. Exclude confirmed closed roles; label inaccessible or ambiguous postings as unverified and keep them outside the verified shortlist.
2. Return a deduplicated shortlist with exact title, employer, location and remote restrictions, advertised compensation with currency and period, required qualifications, fit or gaps against the user's supplied experience, deadline when stated, direct application link, and when checked. Distinguish required from preferred qualifications and internships from regular employment. Preserve work-authorization or clearance conditions. Cite each posting, mark unstated fields unknown, and report a shortfall instead of padding the list with closed or unverified roles.Get new playbooks like this one

What This Does
Finds current job openings and verifies each one before including it.
The process:
- Search with
firecrawl_searchusing your role, location or remote eligibility, and required constraints. If you supply posting URLs, it goes straight to verification. - Verify on the employer's page. For each role, Claude fetches the employer posting or linked official applicant-tracking page (a fresh capture when supported) and inspects application status, closing dates, redirects, and expired notices. A search snippet, a job-board entry, or a successful fetch alone doesn't prove applications are open.
- Exclude closed roles. Inaccessible or ambiguous postings are labelled unverified and kept out of the verified shortlist.
- Return a deduplicated shortlist with exact title, employer, location and remote restrictions, advertised compensation (with currency and period), required qualifications, fit or gaps against the experience you supplied, deadline if stated, a direct application link, and when it was checked.
Required and preferred qualifications are distinguished, as are internships and regular employment, and work-authorization or clearance conditions are preserved.
Before You Start
This workflow runs on Firecrawl's hosted MCP server, which gives Claude tools to search the live web and read pages. You need a Firecrawl account and a connected MCP server.
Easiest route: the Firecrawl plugin. In Claude Code:
/plugin marketplace add firecrawl/firecrawl-claude-plugin
/plugin install firecrawl@firecrawl
Then run /reload-plugins (or start a new session) and /mcp to connect your Firecrawl account. Installing the plugin and connecting the account are separate steps. The plugin bundles all thirteen Firecrawl skills, so this playbook is mainly for people who want just this one workflow as a standalone CLAUDE.md. Choose one installation of Firecrawl so the skills don't duplicate.
Cost and privacy. Web, developer, and paper searches are billed per request, page retrieval is billed per URL, and provider data uses each capability's listed price. Government search and provider discovery are free. Check your Firecrawl plan. Requests send search queries, page URLs, and any provider inputs to Firecrawl, so include only what the task needs.
Quick Start
Step 1: Create a Project Folder
mkdir -p ~/Documents/JobSearch
Step 2: Download the Template
Click Download above, then:
mv ~/Downloads/CLAUDE.md ~/Documents/JobSearch/
Step 3: Start Working
cd ~/Documents/JobSearch
claude
Then ask in plain language:
"Find current [role] openings in [city or remote], and check that each is still open"
"Who is hiring [role] with salary above [amount]? Compare them to my background: [skills]"
"Check whether these postings are still open: [URL 1], [URL 2]"
Tips & Best Practices
- Share your relevant experience. Fit and gaps are judged against what you supply, and nothing is inferred about you.
- State hard constraints. Location, remote eligibility, pay floor, visa or clearance needs.
- Check the date. Each result shows when it was checked. Postings can close the same day.
- Expect a short list. If few roles are verified, Claude reports the shortfall instead of padding with closed or unverified ones.
Limitations
- Pay is only what's advertised. Claude doesn't estimate unstated compensation, and unstated fields are marked unknown.
- No actions. It doesn't apply, contact employers, or create job alerts.
- A fetch isn't a guarantee. Even a verified posting can fill or close later. Check before you invest in an application.
- Not recruiting advice. It doesn't infer qualifications from personal traits.
